샤카 칸 - What Cha' Gonna do for me? (1981)

한 번도 오르기 힘든 Rock and Roll 명예의 전당에 두 차례나 헌액된 (한번은 Rufus 리드보컬로) 샤카 칸은 소위 '훵크의 여왕'으로 불리운다. 디스코의 여왕인 '도나 서머'에 비해 현저히 낮은 인지도만 보아도 한국에서 '훵크'라는 장르에 대한 예우를 간접적으로 엿볼 수 있어 아쉽다.

그녀를 가장 대중적으로 알린 팝은 역시 랩이 들어간 "I feel for you"지만, 그 곡은 원래 영역인 '훵크'에는 속하지 않는 작품.

역시 이 곡이 개인적으로는 가장 좋다. 1981년 빌보드 알앤비 차트 1위곡으로, 훵크 특유의 감각적인 리듬과 80년대초반을 달군 '시티팝'적인 내음이 가득하다.
